Karen Frey

Trustee Karen Frey is a lifelong resident of Corcoran and graduated from Corcoran schools. Mrs. Frey and her late husband, lifelong resident Darrell Frey, raised their family in Corcoran with both their children attending the local schools.

This is Mrs. Frey second round of service to Corcoran Unified School District. She was elected to the Board of Trustees in 1985 and served nine years during the time her children were attending CUSD schools. She decided to campaign for a vacated seat on the Board because of her strong interest in the schools and the fact that her grandchildren are now attending schools in the District.

Trustee Frey represents the District on the Kings County School Boards Association and also serves as the Association’s Treasurer this year. She volunteers in the classrooms at CUSD schools and is involved with the Bret Harte parent group. Mrs. Frey sits on the Community and Schools Together (CAST) committee, which is a foundation that assists the District in providing extras for the students and classes, such as field trips and rewards. She has volunteered in many areas of the Corcoran community over the years. Mrs. Frey has served on the Board of her church and is a past ladies captain as well as a current Ladies Board member for the Kings Country Club.

Mrs. Frey believes a student can receive a good education from public schools and that every child deserves the chance to have a good education. She uses those beliefs to assist her in making decisions that will benefit the education of the community’s children.
