Teaching from the Inside Out
CUSD is relentless in creating an environment for all to improve mind, character, and body. We believe that our reputation for quality and student achievement will draw students and their families to our district.
CUSD uses specific teaching methods to help every student become an effective communicator from the framework of character and integrity. We call this process “teaching from the inside out,” and it consists of the following characteristics:
- Teachers work in the geographic center (no longer in front of class), working from the inside to the outside as more of a facilitator and activator.
- Teachers work from a foundation of building relationships, knowing that establishing a caring trust builds a culture of success.
- Teachers plan from the inside out, creating a framework for learning opportunities and an environment and culture for student success.
- Teachers construct lessons centered on morality, character, and citizenship, engaging students in
reflection and healthy, constructive debate.
